Player Improvement

There are a number of Area Squad programmes and development opportunities available across the region for talented young players. Dundee operates squads at U12 and U15 age groups with Perth & Kinross also operating similar development squads. Players are selected for these squads through open trials and ongoing talent identification via school/club programmes.

The next step for talented players is to reach the Midland Squads and represent the district at inter-district competitions. These squads operate at U14, U15, U16, & U18 age outdoors and U15, U18 indoors. Details of squad trials are distributed to all schools and clubs in the area and documents with this information are also linked below.

District players with national player potential are then identified at inter-district competitions and are invited to attend talent camps and Scotland squad sessions. For more information on the regional squad that supports the national programme, visit our Regional Squad page.
