Scottish Performance Squad (Tayside & Fife)
The SportTayside & Fife Partnership, in conjunction with Scottish Hockey, runs the Scottish Performance Squad (Tayside & Fife) to support the development of players with potential to play for Scotland. The squad incorporates players at U16 and U18 level and works on a programme that combines technical pitch sessions and player education sessions covering aspects such as nutrition, podiatry, and psychology. Selection for the squad takes place in November with induction thereafter and technical sessions commencing in February and leading up to the summer international activity.
At the younger age levels, Dundee has an Area Squad programme that involves U12 and U15 age groups and leads onto the Mini and Full Potential Squads for the more talented players. Perth & Kinross also run an Area Squad programme incorporating both indoor and outdoor sessions. These players will then look to move into Midland District squads at U14 level and upwards. Sessions are also run in Fife for talented young players.
